I'm no longer going to watch movies...

Movies are no longer for me.

Friday Night...

Prairie Home Companion

Here was a movie that has a lame name.

Sounds like something you should take into the Outhouse to read...

I enjoyed the flick, but it ran a bit long, and had some character introductions and twists that didn't add to the story, and just convoluted it... it seemed Tommy Lee Jones was in it more for the "Cameo" as opposed any real reason. Some great lines come out of this movie, though...

"I'll give you my moonshine if you show me your jugs", "Liquor she said...and liquor I did, and I don't work there anymore" (I'm looking for the full lyrics to this song, if anyone finds them...please send them), "Loving her ain't easy, but I heard her sister was"...and "Jens Jenson's...spelled with j's, but pronounced like their y's. Why? Because it yust is"...

The bonus features made me howl... especially the full commercials from the movie.

With my passion for Radio Shows, this movie was up my alley, as it showed the ol' radio programs, and live commercials... a thing of the past, it seems.

Vanilla Sky

I've seen this movie about 50 times... but I love it, and hadn't watched it in about a year. So, I watched it all the way through, and then fell asleep watching it again listening to the Director's Cut.

Favourite Lines: "maybe I'll tell you in a different life when we are both cats"... and "Open your eyes"... Penelope Cruz is just hot.

Saturday Night...the tri-fecta movie night

Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector

This had me in stiches... it almost was believable for about 20 minutes.

Highlight of the film: during the credits, Iris Bahr walks up, topless holding her chest. Ok... maybe not the best highlight, but the most memorable...

Thankfully, there was only one "Get-r-done" in this

Capote

This was a decent movie... but long... and I was constantly rewinding 'cause I'd missed something while typing on my Blackberry or something...

Broken Flowers

This was supposed to be a "funny Bill Murray movie"... but I didn't laugh once. There was some cool nudity, and some craziness, but 'prolly the worst movie I've watched in a long time. Plus... it ended with one of those endings where you're sitting there going, "What???"... I have no idea what I was supposed to interperet as the ending...

I can't say that I really watched a "good movie"... or that I'd recommend anyone to see them... they were just blah. Perhaps it's like my tastes in literature... I'd rather read a magazine over a book, it could be that I'd rather watch a TV Show over a movie...

But I may give the cinema one more chance... The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie is still in Theatres...

Enjoy your weekend,
Scullz
