A Weekend of Celebration and Celebrities

Joe Scully with Celebrities Good Friday was a Great Friday. Saturday was Stellar. Sunday was Good and Monday was Decent. The true highlight of the weekend was the Easter Egg Hunt at Teen Ranch Caledon. For the second year, Teen Ranch hosted the community and offered games, tours and staggered Easter Egg Hunts.

Marshall and I spent most of the day amusing each other while his niece, uncle and aunt partook in the activities at the Ranch: Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Balloons, etc. Each activity had a message of Easter attached, including the coffee and Tomb/Marshmallow donuts, which was quite refreshing. Though it was obvious the message would be shared as the venue is a Christian Camp, it was great to see that the attending youth associated Easter with more than Bunnies and Chocolate.

The actual Egg Hunts were fun. The first had a seasoned group of scavengers...kids running mach-80 grabbing the eggs, so our youngun's only were able to scout one or two. The second heat was more kid friendly as the "Big Kids" were occupied, and even Marshall and I found a few hidden spheres of chocolate goodness.

Sticking with the Easter Theme, we and watched "Hop" in the theatre over the weekend. I was pretty annoyed that I couldn't tell what character Hugh Laurie (TV's [H]ouse) voiced until the credits, but in hindsight, I guess it should have been obvious; hint: the most English sounding aside from Russel Brand.

Sunday we went to an Easter Service. I attempted to stream it on my iPhone to the Internet so that a member of the Church could participate at home, however, I learned that Church is a cell dead zone. Even our Saviour couldn't help Bell Mobility carry the message...
