Thanks to TSN...ProRodeo Returns to TV in Canada!
Tuesday, 24 November 2009 23:14

In 2008 my Dad and I went to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) in Las Vegas, Nevada. We watched the first two rounds LIVE at the Thomas and Mack, the third at a casino with a satellite feed before flying home. Upon our return to Canada, I raced home to tune into round four and WHAM...no WNFR on television. OLN dropped Rodeo and the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series (PBR BFTS). It was shocking, and withdrawl set in quite quickly.

For the balance of 2008 and until today in 2009, Canadian Rodeo and Bull Riding Fans have had minimal exposure to the Sport, except for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) coverage of the Calgary Stampede, and the odd championship round of PBR on CBS (including the final two rounds of the PBR World Finals; which were very engaging to watch in HD for the first time as well.

Great news hit today as the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced that TSN, Canada's Sports Leader will be airing all 10 rounds of the WNFR! Though there will be a slight delay between the Round and when it hits Canadian Airwaves, it's great news for Canadians!

In celebration, I've produced a Broadcast Calendar for posting on the fridge or for placing beside the remote. It contains both the Canadian and American shedules. Enjoy!

NOTE: THE WNFR WILL ACTUALLY BE BROADCAST ON TSN2 IN CANADA (correction: November 27th, 2009)
