Ontario's IPRA World Champion is BACK!

We were pretty fired up that Matt Mousseau of Dashwood, Ontario won the International Professional Rodeo Associaton's World Championship in the Steer Wrestling at IFR 39 this past January (article at www.ORArodeo.com).

He spent most of the early part of the 2009 Summer Season resting up from knee surgery, and driving others to big money IPRA Rodeos. At the tail end, however, he came back with a vengence and currently sits #3 in the World Standings after a 3.7 to win Pauls Valley, OK in June, 3.5 to with Huntsille, AR in July and a 4.0 to win Attica in August, on top of a few other placings all across North America.

Then...springboard to the Festival Western du Ste. Tite...he won the Short Go this past weekend with a 3.3! This was also posted as an Arena Record. The standings at www.IPRArodeo.com haven't been updated yet, but quick calculations will put him from 3rd in the World (where he sits now) to most likely in the Driver's Seat to win his second consecutive World Championship!

Also smokin' in the short go was Alvinston, Ontario's Rod Weese who placed 2nd with a 3.8. Results from the short go are up on www.festivalwestern.com

Scully: the next Radio Idol?

As I posted in my past few emails, I'm competing in AM 900 CHML's Talk Show Idol Contest. Thanks to all of you who voted, or attempted to vote (their server was postin errors...). The results will be announced this Friday at 1pm, you can tune in at www.900chml.com by clicking "listen live", OR follow my twitter, and I'll post either way.

Updates to JoeScully.com

A few updates to the site taking over the world-wide-web...

First, I blogged about Talk Show Idol a few times. There you can actually hear excepts from the competition. (Go there now - the article)

Second, I uploaded some videos from the summer...which I e-mailed about a week and a half ago. (Go there now - Videos)

Third, I uploaded some random shots from the Rodeo Road Tour of '09...pics of steer wrestling a barbeque, big beer mugs and so much more. (Go there now - Pictures)

And lastly, I "cleaned up" the archive, and there you can find some of my favourite blogs of all time...The "Popcorn Incident", the time I tried announcing and competing at the OFR, the time I got hit by a car...and so much more. (Go there now - Brief Archives)

Keep checking back for more updates!
